Interesting look back at a fitness fad from the 19th century that played a role in multiple trends that are still alive and well today. A medium(ish) read but a fairly quick skim if you’re easily distracted like me.

My great grandfather became friends with Charles Atlas after WWI and started working out with him. They were both from Calabria. He’s even in one of his publications posing mostly naked. My cousin has been training for over a year for a body building competition that is now cancelled.
